And breathing out. You see, you must sometimes breathe out ordinary or you will get dizzy. So is it quicker breathing out through you nose or through your mouth? That is what you do have to think about when deciding.

It really depends on the piece that you are playing. If you are playing a slow piece it is alright to breathe through your nose but if you are playing a fast piece it is better to breath through your mouth. It depends on how much time you have to take a breath.

GAHHHHHHHHH!! THE MOUTH!!! sorry, had a little out burst there. It`s so much harder to get a deep full breath with your nose(you can`t do it). you have to breath from "deep down". Also, it`s so hard to coordinate breathing through the nose. Think about it, can you breath in through your nose and out through you mouth at the same time? no. If you are breathing through your nose it takes that much more conscious effort to remember not to be playing. If your breathing through your mouth, it can be quicker because you can just catch a quick breath without having to think"ok stop playing breath..etc.) your mouth is already off the clarinet to begin with to take the breath so it`s one less thing to remember. Breathing through your nose and out with your mouth may also make you dizzy if you do it too long.
