hey there. our clarinets in wind symphony decided to take a clarinet choir to solo and ensamble.. so when our director was looking through music, several alto clarinet parts were present. we had an old one up on a shelf, so we got it down. i also play saxophone so naturally i was the only one who could get a decent sound out of it. my problem is the high notes... the clarinet is tight and doesn`t have any major (noticable) problems.. its just kinda old. if anyone has had an experience with alto clarinet and has some tips on supporting higher notes.. please e-mail me or leave a reply. thank you

I used to play Alto C. and the only thing that helped me was my lung capacity from playing the Bag Pipes. There are swimming breathing excerises that you can do to help increase your capacity.

My Alto C. was ancient, and also found on a back shelf of my bands practice room. It was great!
