I think you`re biting off a bit more than you can chew. Clarinet production requires very specialized machinery and highly skilled people working on them. If you`re looking for a project to work on, your own barrels or bells might be worth looking into. You can always start by researching types of wood to use. I`m afraid I can`t help you more than that

Thank you for your info. I have the capability to fabricate anything you can dream of, I own a precision machine shop. I’m trying to save time more than anything else, I thought if I can find such a book or books then I don’t have to buy clarinets and reverse engineer them. This is mainly for my own experiments, is to develop clarinets with different types of woods and shape therefore generate more of an ethnic type of sounds (dark, deep, mellow, etc…) if you have noticed lately many of the movie makers are using ethnic instruments to generate beautiful music like The Gladiators, Hulk, The Passion of the Christ and many others, that type of music really touches the heart, it is almost talking to you, and it is becoming popular to the western folks.
