Ok so i got a new Buffet r13 Mid-December, right? I have taken extremely good care of it. recently i have noticed (well more like i cant take it apart) that i have trouble taking it apart, and difficulty putting together the two middle joints. i put a tremendous amount of cork grease on it, but it doesnt seem to help. my band director suggested puttin olive oil not on the corks but in the joints and letting it soak over night then wiping it out the next morning. i havent done this yet because if it ruins my clarinet, im kinda screwed. WHAT DO I DO??

I have experienced similar situation with my new clarinet, but I find that if you put cork grease on it,then you rub it with your hand,it`ll help.
Maybe you should take it to a shop and ask for advice.

Sounds like your clarinet is going from warm air to cold air or cold air to warm air. The wood expands. I let it sit for a while before I take it apart or put it together.

Yes Chris is right, take it to a instrumental repairer and ask them, but I suest that you may need some cork taken off

My daughter is also having the same problem with her R-13- the barrel is stuck to the upper section of the clarinet! Any suggestions as to how to get it off so we can have the cork shaved???

Like I said previouslt, take it to the repairer, but safely trnasport it, wrap it in something safe and show them

I use to have this problem a lot with my wooden clarinet and found out that if I put in a Dampit, used by violinist, it doesn`t do this anymore because the mositure that causes it is gone.
