It`s too bad no-one makes them anymore Someone could start though... I mean there already are bass oboes and heckelphones in existance, I don`t see why a new contrabass couldn`t be made. Though playing such a huge instrument might be hard. Perhaps fold it into the shape of a bassoon?

True, You could fold it into the shape of a bassoon, but then people would think that it actually is bassoon.
