It`s so sad. And he suffered alot too. poor pope. I know it`s too soon but I wonder who the new pope is going to be. REST IN PEACE oh dear pope.

I have mixed feelings about this pope. He`s done a lot of good things... but he`s done a lot of bad things too.
I`m not a catholic, but events in the catholic church effect everyone simply because of the huge number of catholics out there. I wonder who the nest pope will be...

Exactly why I`m asking Vialoxx why he said that thing about the pope doing bad things.

As far as we know, and as history can show, the Pope never did anything wrong. I`m not sure what his job was as "figurehead", but he did it with nobility, honesty and selflessness. That says alot. He was a good man. I respect him for that. That`s saying too much already, this isn`t relevant to an oboe forum.

But still, the Vatican is a corrupt front for organized crime, politics and business all-in-one isn`t it? I`m not being inflammatory, but it is widely known I think. That would have made the Pope`s position alot harder. So, good for him to represent the church and the people in the midst of all that corruption. I wouldn`t have any part of it. He must of been a saint!

He didn`t personally didn`t do any bad things per se, but certainly he told others to do them. That makes him responsible, if indirectly.
I`ll give an example; his stance on birth control might cost thousands of catholics their lives through venereal disese.
As for the pope being "perfect" that goes against even catholic beliefs.

Personally, I don`t care much, because I am not catholic and nothing-ness, and I found out about pope a week ago that he was in existance.

It`s sad, but you have to remember he has gone (I hope!!!) to heaven and heaven is certanly a better place than Earth. In my opinion, sure it`s sad that he`s gone, but it`s selfish to want him to still be here, you know? Arg, i`ll re-word that later if you don`t get my meaning. It`s 2AM though and Im off to bed

Gee people, you can`t believe what the Pope`s death mean for italian people like me (catholic or not)... he was called "the young people`s Pope"... he did a lot of good things and everybody respect him. I never thought very much about him but now that he is not here anymore I feel such a sadness... I am happy I saw him one time.

I don`t like Church because Vatican is corrupted but I appreciate some figures of the Church (some priests I know, Mothere Therese of Calcutta etc... I also had a uncle who was a missionary bishop) and the Pope was one of them. He made all the people of the world, of every religion no matter what, love and respect each others. He was against the war, he sayd "or with Bush or with me"! :D
Maybe in the last years he was too old to understand if the people around him was honest

Yes Church says a lot of wrong things, but I have to say also that the thing you were talking about are not really considered big sins. I grew up with a catholic education but I make love even if I`m not married and I obiouvsly use preservatives or others anti-conceptionals. My priest is very open-minded, he never make me feel a sinner but just, as I am, a girl who loves her boyfriend

I`m very worried about WHO will be the next pope! Maybe a black pope? Or an italian one? I hope it won`t be italian because it could be involved in politics!!!

His death might effect the Polish people a lot ( he was kind of a symbol of freedom during and after the cold war ).
Who ever the next pope is, it will certainly effect his home country. I`ll certainly be following the news.
