Im not catholic, im wicca, but i was wondering can a woman be a pope, or even a priest?

it was really sad when i heard of his death, he was a really good man, and he loved canonizing people from all around the world, which i liked a lot.

i don`t think that the next pope will be a non italian though. with the amount of italian cardinals in the vatican, i doubt they`ll put two non-italian popes back to back.

Not in the Catholic church. As far as I know, all the priests, ministers, cardinals, and popes ever to have served in the Catholic church have been males. I don`t think they`ll change that anytime soon, either. Just like they won`t change their thousand-year-old opinions on g@y marriage, divorces, or birth control, but who am I to complain? I`m just an athiest... (And why does this forum censor the word "g@y"?)

And about the pope. Well, what can I say about him from my point of view? He was a good man, he lived a full life, and he died at an old age, just like most of us. I can`t really feel sad for his death, though. To an athiest like me, he was just another important person who passed away. It`s not that I don`t care, because I do believe that every human is equally important, regardless of all other factors.

Church is thinking about the possibility of having female sacerdotes but I don`t think it will happen soon... anyway, women are not very interested in temporal power :D

I really hope the next Pope will be non-italian! Someone says that a black Pope or a sud-american one will be too strict because grown up in a culture that eliminate the "moderate" people. I don`t know, I just hope next Pope will be honest and good like Giovanni Paolo II...

Do Catholics think "Wicca" is bad?

Catholics don`t take any position on wicca, but if they did, I`m afraid that church policy would have to go against it. I don`t think goth would work there either. But don`t worry, everything else goes, including music I guess, so they must like the oboe.

You just have to love other people then you can follow any kind of beliefs...

i just wanna say, wicca is not goth. It`s a religion that honors the environment. i know another name for a wiccain is a witch, but its not goth

We have a new Pope! Benedetto XVI, a german pope! Don`t like him very much, but we`ll see!

Oh yeah he sounds just like what we need!!!! Oh yeah am I happy! I`ll throw my full support behind him and his good traditional views! Just what we need, someone to counter the moral decay in the world in general. YAY!!!!

a little too conservative.. oh well. hmost cardinals were appointed by PJPII, i can`t say i was expecting a more liberal pope.. haha. i guess that kinda throws the idea of female priests and priests that can get married out the window. hah. and i doubt he`ll travel as much as PJPII.. well, iunno. i haven`t seen too much of the personal side of bededict xvi, only the his political stance. so i guess we`ll just see.

He is not for the intercultural dialogue and for omosexual marriage... and a lot of other things... I find it very sad... but maybe his actions will be good!
