In Hong Kong we mostly do RCM or Trinity exams. Grade 1 to grade 8, then for RCM, DipABRSM, LRSM, FRSM, for Trinity, ATCL, LTCL and FTCL

We have
1) an admission exam (you always pass it, because we are only a few people)
2) a confirmation exam (after the trial-year, you have this exam and after you can be admitted to the first, second, third year ecc...)
3) 5th year exam, in wich you also have to play english horn and to demonstrate you can make a reed. But before, you have to pass the theory/solfeggio exam.
4) 7th year exam (diploma) but before you have to pass history of music and harmony exams, and to follow orchestra, wind orchestra, chamber music, and chorus lessons.

5) if you wan you can turn your diploma in a degree with other years and exams but I don`t know very well the new laws, I just know you can choose the concertistic course, the orchestral one or the english horn one.
