Hi, Im getting a new marigaux 2001 oboe. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or reports about them.Or anyone else on this forum that plays a marigaux?... so far i havn`t seen any entries about marigaux`s... they are the best oboes ever!why don`t more people play them?

I have played about four of them and I have never really liked them. I think they are attempting to make them sound so dark that they sound almost lifeless. I also don`t like the kyework. The C# key is burried between the D# and C that you can`t even feel it.
However, there are some beautiful players who choose to play them, Cynthia Steljes and Francois Lelux are two that come to mind.

you have to like the sound, like of any other oboe:-)
a lot of top players have choosen marigaux...

Marigaux probably one of the best oboes for european type of playing.
But they also known for they high crack record

I play a marigaux 2001 since 1 year and I think its one of the best oboe you can have.
Key are a little different then you must play 1 month for a good playing.

I am very happy to have a marigaux, very good oboe.
