I want to learn jazz on the oboe. Do you know how to learn?

I dont think I`ve ever heard an oboe play jazz. Please, someone correct me if I`m wrong, but aren`t oboes mainly used in orchestras to play the beautiful long solos?

I think the best way to learn is just to practise, practise and practise. I have also become interested in jazz and improvisation recently. Oboe is probably the best intrument on earth, you can play those long beautiful solos, but also jazz music. I know that it is not very common, bur I assure you it`s possible! Don`t expect it to sound excellent the first time. It won`t... Good luck!

I looooooooooooooove Jazz oboe, keep practising. Oboe is good for everything! I know this wasn`t a very helpful post but I don`t know very much about Jazz improv myself
