I like it very much.I would rase the pitch of midle E a bit.C# key as a bit too far for my fingers )))Response is totally great , stability also. I espesially like how instrument vibrates from top to the bell.
I also using from time to time few other bells one is Loree AK and Buffet 3613 wooden bell

I`ve owned a Hans Kreul oboe for 27yrs and I`ve found it to be a very well made solid instrument with a lovely dark tone.
I believe oboes are still made by Hans Kreul`s son Joachim.
Try this link www.kreul.de

By the way, I have cheked www.kreul.de.
Semms like they now import-distributor company and repair shop.At least they do not advertise any kreul oboe production. Maybe they can make an oboe for special order???
Another think is. I know what are you looking for ,talking about Kreul oboe. It has a great lock on center of the tone.Sometimes more than any other french brand.
I would go and chek... Puchner new oboe . It pretty close in my opinion fot your taste.Model 733.
Another great maker ,carriying out truly german custom tradition is Ludwig frank.Their instruments -piece of the art, They rewarded by German goverment, and personally by Daniel Barenboim.all the brands i have mentioned have something in common.
They all thik wall oboes, enabling very mellow dark tone with relatively light reed.mechanic is solid and smooth, almost zero crack feedback.
Hope it helps

Yes, it`s definitely right. Kreul company does not produce their own oboes any more.
For personal reasons, Joachim Kreul dropped out of big business and instrument production and retreated to run
a small, but very fine woodwind instrument/repair shop in Tübingen.

As far as oboes are concerned, Kreul now recommends and sells almost exclusively Marigaux oboes (which I think
are some of the finest Oboes).

However, Kreul was never much into oboes. Their core competencies appear to be more in the field
of clarinets and flutes.

And yes, Kreul oboes are very, very rarely played in Germany. The Kreul brand is clearly
an outsider when it comes to oboes.

At the moment, the majority of German oboists seem to play french oboes.
Of the German brand oboes still being actively played, I`d like to mention Püchner (quality of their instruments has dropped, though), Oscar Adler and Ludwig Frank.

I doubt Joachim Kreul will make a new built-to-order Kreul Oboe.
Even if they wanted, they no longer have the tools and machinery needed to
make new oboes from scratch.
