Hey everybody!

I was just interested...what are you guys practising right now, and how long? Do you practise every day? And since when do you play oboe? Are there also any pros around?

I know, a lot of questions...but I´d be very happy if someone would answer...

I am not understanding your question. Do you actually play, or are you thinking of trying out the instrument. It sounds like your afraid to try an oboe because it might take too much of a commitment on your part. If your not ready to fight the up`s and down`s. this might not be the instrument for you.

I play pro for 11 years. I try to play up to 2 hours every day, and make reeds for another 2 hours.Otherwise i feel out of shape if i do nat touch the instrument for a day

Sorry, you understood me wrong.I am playing the oboe for some years and have now started to study oboe(even though I am yet going to school - I am 17 and doing both, if you are talented enough you are allowd to do so in Germany)
I practise 3 hours each day and if you are interested:I start with scales and all this stuff(1 hour), thenI´m doing 1hour "Salviani"etudes(exercises - is this the correct word, I´m not sure..)and "Luft"etudes. And then 1 hour "Kalliwoda - concertino"(F-Major).

That is one reason why I normaly don´t have the time to do my homework for school.....

It sounds like you have a good system already.
1. Warm-up on basics.
2. Etudes
3. Phrasing, music for performance, etc.
You might try a website by the Arizona State University Oboe
department: www.public.asu.edu/~schuring/
Professor Schuring has several articles on topics such as how to pratice, reed making and so on.

Thanks Tom for the website.
But what would be even MORE interesting to me is how long f.e. you practise. And WHAT! I mean what concert do you play for example?

I know that my practising is quite organised - and I don´t have a problem with it either!
I´m just INTERESTED in what and how long you play/practise.

So I hope for some more answers
