I am parting with my Laubin EH. It is a sad day, but I have decided to offer it up in hopes that I can use the money to replace my old oboe and get the one I REALLY want instead of settling for a cheaper one. The EH is a 1969 Laubin with a GORGEOUS tone, nice high register, resonant low register, and beautiful inbetween. Long before I purchased it in 1998, it was repaired for a crack in the top joint. Since I have had it the crack hasn`t spread, nor has it affected the quality of tone. It comes with a case, humidifier, silk swab, and a #2 Loree bocal. I am asking $7500 with room to negotiate. Email me if you are interested in giving it a try!

Very interesting website.

From that website:
MALERNE - The Malerne English horns (see "stencil instruments") tend to be excellent in every respect, worthy of professional use.

LAUBIN – English horns (until 1976) Malerne, Paris (finished by Laubin)

I hear the waiting list is 10 for EH and 5 or 6 for oboes. Not really sure, but that`s what I hear.

He is still making English Horns, however they are not currently accepting new orders for English Horns. I believe they stopped taking any more orders when it went over a 10 year wait. I recently got a Laubin Rosewood Oboe that I waited nearly 9 years for. Beautiful instrument and I'm very pleased with it. They are still accepting oboe orders though.
