Greetings,

I`m searching for an oboe teacher suitable for an advanced student. This student is interested in making her own reeds and furthering her technical studies. She is currently a senior in HS and is auditioning for colleges. Her current teacher lives over an hour north of her.

Any top rate oboe teacher in Central NJ (within 1/2 of Freehold NJ)?

Thanks!

A good source of oboe teachers may be local colleges and universities. Check out the websites of any colleges in your area, find out if they have an oboe instructor, and contact them for more information. Usually they will have a bio of the teacher so you can see how qualified the person is to teach your son/daughter. Maybe even try Princeton if that is close enough to you(http://www.music.princeton.edu/pages/ugradPrivateTeachers.htm#oboe). Also try searching the yellow pages online for local teachers.

Unfortunately, the Oboe teacher at the closest College - Rutgers U is MIA and never returns calls.

Princeton is almost equadistant in terms of travel where the current teacher is...

I was actually looking for a specific name.

Thanks anyway.
