Help! I just started playing the oboe 3 weeks ago and I absolutly love it! However I have problems playing notes above the staff and I'm wondering if anybody can halp me. thanx.

You MUST be playing it incorrectly then.
(Kidding, though it's usually known for being painful to start)

I had that exact same problem! I'm pretty new myself, but here's the things that helped me:

Soak your reed a little bit longer. It helps with a faulty F in my case, and for the notes just above the staff.

Mess around with the notes just below the top of the staff. Hopefully this'll help your embouchure and get you to the point of being able to go over.

The octave keys are your friends! Remember that. They'll get you everywhere. (kinda)

If you're in a band class of any sort, get some of the music from your director. Focus on the notes that appear in your music the most, and you'll eventually be able to climb that ladder to the G's and A's and stuff.
