Okay, I'm guilty of neglect. I recently discovered my old Mirafone oboe that has been in storage for too long. It's been about 25 years since its been used. It served me well in college.
I tried to play it and yeah, my lip is shot and was only able to produce a first octave B and nothing else
It's made of wood; no obvious cracks; keys are not sticky; pads look okay, cork should be redone; no evidence of critters in the case.
I realize it probably needs an overhaul after this long a period and I should probably sell it. Anyone know how I can figure out what model of Mirafone this is? The D key is not ringed. I can't find a Mirafone website. Do they even make Mirafones anymore?? I don't know if I should sell it as is or should get it overhauled then sell it. Would appreciate any input.
