Ok, so here's what I need...
1. Intermediate/Professional oboe that can be used throughout highschool and college
2. Fairly inexpensive
3. Left Hand F
4. Down to low Bb
5. 3 main trill keys

Thank you so much!

Hm. I would say find a specialty shop near you and try out the oboes.

Off the top of my head...
Fox model 330 is modified conservatory, but has the left F and Bb. I don't remember how many trill keys it has.
Rigoutat RIEC is another that's interesting.

Try looking online, most intermediate oboes are in the 2000-4000 range.

Try here for an idea of pricing of most oboes:

Rigoutat RIEC pricing listed here:

And this Pin the Tail on the Oboe article gives an interesting look at the tastes of an audience for specific oboes:

The pintail link didn't seem to work. If you google "pin the tail on the oboe" and click "Cached" you'll see it.

I have a yamaha oboe that I love! :-)

It is made of wood and has a beautiful tone, but is a little on the expensive side (about $3,000)

I have a Covey Traditional. It's wood and has a really beautiful tone, but it was about $6,000.

I would go for the fox 300, full conservatory, very nice instrument, but it is durable plastic.

I would strongly recommend a Marigaux - Perhaps the Strasser model would be suit your needs.

The sound quality is second-to-none...dark and rich, and every Marigaux oboe has it's own unique sound quality.

At least, I think it is one you should consider!
