Hi, in 48 hours I am going to get my wooden Kohlert Oboe to rent!

Any one know anything about these oboes?

Not sure it's the same maker since spelling is different, but her'es what Peter Hurd's web site reports.

"KHOLERT - Kholert made some full Conservatory instruments. An inconsistent maker. I have had a professional model Kholert oboe with a penetrating, haunting, dark tone. It was well voiced. However, usually best to avoid..." Also, no longer in business.

Of course, renting is a different situation than buying.

Depends if its newer. Alot of Kohlert instruments are alright instruments (I'm a Bassoon player, so I really can't say about the oboe's quality), but I know alot of their older instruments were alright, but currently they are being made by a different company somewhere in Asia (Counterfit crap).
