Hey guys! I have been playing oboe for about 2 years now.. But I always had a problem with tongueing..
when ever I do my spit gets inside the oboe and makes very weird sound.. can some1 tell me whats going on?
I am a newbie on oboe so.. and also give me some tips on how to make a clearer sound.. and whats the difference between medium soft to medium, mdium hard and so on?

Hey, I've been playing the oboe for 2 years too, but don't worry I've mastered single tonguing.
Ok so heres the thing, eventually every oboe reed with get spit inside it from tonguing once in a while, just take the reed out, but the cork side in your mouth and blow... say three times. And before playing, always swallow so your mouth is dry. I hope that helps otherwise maybe you are tonguing it wrong, then I'll have to post again.

If you want to get a clear sound it may because your tongue isn't coming away from the reed fast enough. You tongue just has to touch the tip of the oboe reed and then goes back to the bottom of the mouth.
