Does anyone here use the Barret method for oboe? If so can you please record yourself playing progessive melody No.3 on page 58? I'm having some trouble with it ;s.

Thanks~

I use the barret method, but I can't record myself. I don't have a whole lot of tips, though. But if you have a question, you can ask me.

My teacher told me to always make sure that you're moving forward across the bar line instead of just going down to the notes.
Make sure that the dotted eighth-sixteenth patterns are spaced (but not too much; and I mean by each slurred pair).
Follow the dynamic markings and such as written.
Last one: the piece has some contrasting styles. Recognize them

I don't know if you've moved on from this etude, but this is if you haven't and are still having trouble.

Hope that helped.

EDIT:

Since the original post was made over a month ago, let the post be for any others having trouble. I don't tend to pay attention to dates of posts.

Yeah, Barret is not fun. LOL. It has made for lots of improvements for my technique. Good luck with the oboe etude standard set by Barret.
