I live in an oboeless area and all the companies making reed stopped because i am the only buyer and everyone else makes there own. I need to know how to make oboe reeds or my high school music teacher says i need to learn a new instrument. I am the only oboe player in my school!!

There are plenty of oboist online who work with people in your position to sell reeds. Personally I work with Janet Carpenter at www.oboereedmaker.com She is centered in the Charlotte, NC area, but will ship I believe. Her reeds are amazing. Currently I am half and half on making my own reeds and buying them. I think her reeds are $15 a piece, but entirely hand made and of the highest quality. I also love reeds by Rebecca Collins of Oxford reeds in GA and does ship. Her reeds are about $24 a piece, but are phenomenal. Just do a search online and shop around with reed makers. These are just two of the best I have found. Janett Carpenter reeds are a great bargain. Just make sure that you keep your supply up because you do not want to wait until you have to absolutely have to order new reeds to do that. It ends bad... always. LOL. Good luck.
