hahah i see that many of you are borded..much like me
I am atually not a oboe player.i played it for two weeks and loved it,but mu mom hated it and would not let me switch from flute to oboe. but yeah,......
do you guys ever find that the sound of a oboe is really loud?or is it just me as a flute player?

it is kind'a loud when you think about it.
you play flute? so do i. well... french horn oboe, piano, flute, recorder, piccolo,and cello.

I don't play oboe, but I love its sound(if its a good player). I play saxophone mainly, and flute is my next favorite. I also play the cello pretty well, I love its rich, mesmerizing sound.

yeah, oboe can be really loud, especially when the player isn't that great... but even then. Why do u think they only need 1-3 oboes in a symphony?

the beginning band at our school (all the seventh graders) is gonna have like 7 oboes... painful... especially since they're all beginners

hahaha. well im going to 8th grade and many of the 6th graders oboe players going to 7th play really loud!!!there okay players i would say. oboe is a hard instrument ,but that could just be me as a flute player.

6th grade is still elementary school where i live... so all the 7th graders are the babies:D

At our school we had to try out to play oboe. Our director could only handle one oboe, due to the "excessive cat sounding noises".

our school has like 5 different bands, (beginning, int., concert, symphonic) plus percussion ensemble and 2 jazz bands...

hehe exsessive cat sounds... thats a lovely mental picture
