These are the most common 2 octave scales that you can play on the oboe: Bb, C, D, Eb, E, and F. You may not be able to play the D, Eb, E, or F scales if you do not know the very high versions of these notes that are above the staff. As for the problems with your reeds, are you soaking your reed in water? Saliva breaks down the fibers in the reeds and also could cause it to feel slippery. Also the embouchure of the flute is very different from the oboe embouchure. Are you pulling your chin back when you play? You should not have to do that if you have a correct embouchure. My advice would probably to talk to an oboe teacher about the correct embouchure. You could even talk to another oboist in your school if you had to. Here is a site with a video that could help with your embouchure: < http://reedmaker.com/Embouchure/Embouchure.mov> Hope I can help!!

Are you speaking about major scales? Or minor scales? You can play Bb, B, C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, and some people can do G major all 2 octaves. Commonly though, the highest an oboist will need to play is high F. I really suggest going to an oboe teacher for help.
