Hello,

I have a nephew that plays the oboe. I recently took him to see the musical "Cats" and I thought that a great souvenir would be some sheet music from the musical that he could play at home. Unfortunately, the only ones I have found are for piano, flute, and clarinet. I am completely clueless about music so what I would like to know is if he can use any of those on his oboe. I thought maybe the clarinet would be close but I have heard that they are not. He also plays the drums and I can't find anything for that either. I would really appreciate any suggestions or information you may have.

Thank you.

The flute version would work best. Some flute music goes higher than the oboe can comfortably go but playing those bits would probably work down an octave.

you could try Trevco music, but if not playing flute down an octave would be best. Oboe music isn't as popular as the flute, so he should get used to playing flute music.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I checked on Trevco and he only had an Andrew Lloyd Webber compilation so I will get him the flute sheet music. Thanks again!
