Ok... I know there have been like a million topics like this, but here it goes....

I just found out that the person I was getting my reeds from quit making them and now I have to find a new source of reeds. Are there any places that you would recommend? I looked on reedreviews.net but there are so many people I don't want to waste time and money on reeds that I don't even know will work or not. I sometimes get reeds from my teacher, but she is really busy teaching and playing in a symphony and I don't want to constantly bug her about making reeds for me. I am learning how to make reeds but so far haven't gotten any playable ones, so It will be a while still until I can make my own.

Oxford Reeds are really good. Also, Good Tone Guild Reeds are excellent, and you can get metal staples instead of cork. They are hard so if you don't adjust your own reeds or like extremely hard reeds then I'd suggest a medium. The people who run Oxford Reeds, Lisa Sayre and Rebecca Collins, run an oboe camp where I started making reeds.

David Weber!!!! I've got reeds from him and my instructor absolutely loves them. As a matter of fact, they've gone out and gotten themselves some as well. They take a while, but they are definitely worth the wait.

I've heard that the good tone guild is great too. Just google David Weber to find him

www.forrestmusic.com They have a good selection, and multiple people working. They get them out pretty quick, though sometimes can be back ordered during solo and ensemble season.
