So I'm looking at this Hans Kreul oboe that a private party is selling and they say it isn't marked as MIRAFONE or GORDET. If I understand the other threads on this forum correctly that means it was made for sale in Germany and then made it's way to the U.S. somehow. Is this a more or less desirable oboe than a MIRAFONE or GORDET model? Or does it not mean anything at all?

All it means is it was made by Kreul & sold under their name. As to quality & price it probably depends on whether Gordet & Mirafone bought normal Kreuls stamped with their name or or had them made made to their specification.
Kreul oboes are excellent instruments IMO.
