Hello all, not sure if this is against forum guidelines, since I couldn`t find any...but, I`m a professional oboist in the US, who`s just gotten a website up and running.

I`d like to invite everyone to visit my website, at
http://www.jloboereeds.com.

I`m trying to sell reeds, mostly, but I have mp3 files of me playing as well. Be sure to send me an email and let me know what you think!!

Your website looks great! Good luck with your new venture! If you lived in Canada, I`d check out your reeds (my daughter is having difficulties finding a good brand). However, ordering stuff up from the US is a pain...

Thank you both for your replies, I`m glad you had the chance to look at my site.

Regarding the price of my reeds, that is a pretty standard price for anything that is better in quality than a mass-produced reed such as Jones, Emerald, La Voz, and others. My reeds differ from these in that they are all prepared by hand from start to finish, and the sound that they produce has a deeper, more complex tone quality than mass-produced machine cut reeds. Of course it may seem expensive if you are in a lower cost market--I am in Chicago, and I see people selling reeds for twice that!

Regarding transport to Canada, I have shipped items there before, and have never had a problem getting things across the border in a timely manner. Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Looks pretty good. The pictures of your reeds are a tad bit blurry to me, like from camera shake or something? But maybe my eyes are just bad since it`s late in the day.

Hello, and thanks for your comment! Regarding the pictures...it`s a little from camera shake, and a little because I have a crappy camera and not a good lighting situation here.

But I figured any picture is better than no picture, and once I sell enough reeds I can buy a decent one, with optical zoom! :D

I`m glad you visited the site, though, and I appreciate your feedback.

Wow, it really is a small world. Yes, I do know Pan Yun and Elaine Yeo from my short time in the orchestra. I don`t know if they`d remember me, though. They`re really nice people! I absolutely loved Singapore, and I wish I could have stayed--if only for the food! I would kill to have a hawker stall around the corner from my house instead of a McDonalds.

I use American scrape for my reeds...haven`t learned the French scrape yet!
