I`m just curious - it`s the brand I`ve been using for the past year or two and I was wondering if there`s any other brand I should try.

I know handmade reeds tend to be the best, but last time I got a handmade reed, it was from this college kid who turned out to know nothing about reedmaking - the thing collapsed on me, so I`m not eager to try that again.

If you like the jones reeds you`ll probably like the marlin lesher reeds or the chartier reeds. The fox reeds are also nice.

Well, i tried Jones reeds once, but didnt like the sound of it. It was rather bright. I prefer french scrapes as i feel that the tone produced is warmer...

they`re good. they`re easier ta break in. and they`re all smooth. `cause cascade reeds are all hacked at and they don`t play as smoothly. plus they`re red. lol.

I despise Jones reeds. They are impossible to sound good. For a begining player they may be OK, but don`t waste your money on them. Brasswind/Woodwind sells a good student one. When you get out of your first year playing avoid them like the plague. I have to sit by someone in band who plays on them. It is pure torture. He cannot be in-tune or sound good. Even when I tried them and fixed them up I couldn`t make it sound good. So go to a better reed please. It is worth it.
