I`m in the 11th grade right now, on my 5th year of oboe, and I`ve gone as far as I can on the student model selmer I`ve had since junior high. I`ve been looking around and from what I can see Patricola seems to be the way to go but there`s so many types and I`m a bit confused. Can anyone suggest a model type? I could care less about the price, I`m going to be in debt to my parents for awhile on this so what`s a little bit longer? Anyways, could I get some suggestions?

Nora Post sells good oboes. The Delphene is a good one. It really depends how much you want to spend. The Delphene is $2,300 I believe and is a great deal for what you get. Just make sure you try a bunch out with your teacher.

loree if you dont care about the price, yeah but if you do, some fox/renards (fox and renard are both made by fox, but the renards are the high-quality plastic line) arent too expensive. i have a 330 artist and i really like it

Find Nora Post`s website, since I no longer know her phone number, and give her a call, she`s very knowledgeable about oboes and will get you set up with the right oboe for you. One thing to remember is try several brands (I`d recommend a rigoutat be added to that list if money isn`t an issue, or a rigoutat riec or delphine if it is) and choose the one that works best for you.

Loree (Premier Professional Oboe),Fox 330 (Good Intermediate Oboe (plastic)), Yamaha Professional Model (Good wooden oboe).....I would either go Loree or Yamaha if I didn`t care about price. But buy what sounds best!
