Should I start English Horn?

I love how it sounds, and we`re not exactly poor, and I always see cheap ones and I`m not going to be impressing anyone who knows how they should sound, just something to practice on. Oboe is my main one, and I already know how to make reeds, is English Horn reed making very different?
Music is what I want to do for career, might English Horn be useful in near/somewhat near future?
Any other tid-bits are appreciated

Oh I forgot to add, my teacher said "I don`t exactly recommend it...but it`s up to you"

I think it would be useful to know how to play EH (it`s also easier than oboe) but don`t get fixed only on it...

I`ve been learning oboe for about two months.

When I arrived at my teacher`s studio, for last week`s lesson, he had his English horn set up for me to try.

I was very impressed with his English horn. It had a nice feel to it, and I sounded much better than the oboe with less effort.

My teachers` Loree was inherited from his teacher who played it in a philharmonic orchestra for many years. It was carefully selected by his teacher, and well maintained.

I`d like to get an English horn, but even if I purchased a Loree, it likely would not match the one I tried, and I`d forever be disappointed. So, what to do?

My teacher said that English horn reeds are easier to make than oboe reeds. So, you should have little problem.

Go for it !!!
