Hey, I own a fossati tiery oboe and it plays great, of course, I`m comparing it to the stupid school oboe (selmer student) and several yamahas I have heard - even the wooden ones sounded bad. It deffinately has a dark tone. The C on mine is a bit flat, but my teacher says there is a minor adjustment you can get to fix it. hmm.. It doesnt need to be oiled very often (at least mine doesnt) and i`ve had it for over 6 moths now, and it has no cracks. I have never gotten any reeds stuck in the instrument either (I don`t know if this is just a problem I have or if everyone does)
Ok. That`s all. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

I tried a Tiery out at a music shop and played great! It had a nice sweet tone. It wasn`t as good as any of the Lorees, but I still liked it. For its price, it`s a good oboe.
