Well how would you feel when your music instructors don`t award you for your hard work and the most time spent on working at the instrument..especially the oboe.

Yes. I totally understand how you feel. Last January I auditioned for All-Distric Honor Band. Not only did I get Symphonic Band(1st band), 1st chair, I also got the highest score out of anyone there. Technically, that means I was the best musician there...Sure, I AM bragging, but what do you expect?? I guess the point is, when it came time for the concert, I was extrememly disappointed in NOT ONLY the musical selections and their difficulties, but the fact that I got no visible respect for what I had accomplished...That was on the saxophone by the way.
And now I`m first chair in marching band on the saxophone being only a sophomore!! I was third chair last year with at least one very unworthy superior.
And this year when we picked up our music for marching, a friend of mine mentioned me playing the oboe during concert season, and my band director (who was standing right next to us) said that I have to LEARN the the oboe first!! Oh my gosh. I have my own oboe, I`ve been taking private lessons from a professional for a month and I think I could handle it. Sheesh.
Sometimes I just wish that people would recognize my talent. But I`m sure that this just sound like I`m such a complainer. Sorry about that. ^_^ Just had to vent!!
*PEACE*OUT*
