We are looking at purchasing an older F. Loree oboe. Upon inspecting the oboe we noticed there is what looks to be tape in side the bell. Is this in there for a reason? It looks like it is placed in strategic locations.

The tape in the oboe bell was probably put there by the pervious owner to help adjust a pitch issue. If the oboe plays well and you are happy with it, I would suggest leaving the tape where it is and not worry about it.
