I was given an oboe from thios random kid in one of my band`s mom. I got it overhauled and it plays beautifully, but I don`t know much about it. It says benwal New York on it and it is wood with a Left F and low Bb banana key all that stuff. the person who repaired it said it was made in italy and that benwal awas the dealer. Do any of you guys know anything about an oboe like this? thanks

Benwal New York Oboes were designed by a top double reed player named Ben Storch. For all you oboe fanatics out there...Ben Storch also designed, imported and sold Gordet and Chauvet oboes and english horns. So this oboe is in the top line.
I wish I had such luck...

I have a Benwal oboe, which I am considering selling. Purchased new in about 1975. Excellent condition. Anyone have an idea of it`s value?
