if people don`t honour the oboe and you playing it, there`s a simple solution - don`t play with them.

I always wondered what a noble and distinguished instrument does in a marching band. It`s not a good place for oboes. Sorry.

because oboes suck. in my band they ore overpowering and sound like fingers on the chalk board. clarinets are so muck better.

I dunno why people are lyke dat.Most people are lyke that because they are talently challanged.They domnt know how to play an instrument so they make fun of us oboe players cause we have talent and are way more talanted then them.Now when band people make fun of oboe its because they are haters.I can admitt that the oboe is kinda annoying at first but it has a awsome sound when you get to know how to play it.People are just haters cause at first oboes are lyke the ugly duckling(even sounds lyke one two) but as time goes by are ugly duckling turns into a gorgeous swan.Then all the rest just suck compare to us.......

P.S oboes rule and if youdont lyke my stuff `tuff its my opinion.

I hate the Hobo joke. My friend does it evertime I get on her nerves.Then they say that we sound like dying duck or geese getting runned over by a car. But the only reason people are cruel is becuase they are JEALOUS.

Don`t mean to be arrogant but..,we are the coolest Instrument in the band.

To oboe players,

I play saxophone, but I still agree that the oboe is an awesome instrument! I have tried playing one, and for the life of me, I couldn`t get a sound out of it. I have heard from many people who play it that it was very hard to learn, and that they still have problems with it. However, I think that in skilled hands (and mouthes), the oboe can produce a very beautiful sound, which is, in my opinion, unparalleled by many instruments. To all you oboe players out there, I salute you! Keep up the good work!
