I highly suggest blowing through the bore of the oboe with all your fingers down on the main keys (without the reed in the oboe- your goal is to get a spit line down the bottom part of the bore of the Oboe). Or I would also suggest playing low notes anything lower than regular G natural. When you warm up the bore and have the spit line running down the bottom of the Oboe you have a less of a chance to get water in your keys (because its caused by the warming of the bore and the keys are cold- which makes the water condense into the tone holes). Hope this helps!

I stick the top joint under my left armpit and the middle joint/bell in my right armpit. And while they are warming up all snuggly in my armpits, I set out my reeds and music and tuner and all those other pre-playing chores. Don`t ever blow hot air into a cold wood instrument! That is just asking for it to crack.
