My oboe keeps hissing, especially on C# and I brought it in to get it repaired. Most of the notes are fixed but still my C# is hissing. I have a Rigoutat RIEC and it sounds very nice. Also is there any other oboe that may sound better than mine because it doesn`t have a great sound either.

Hissing? explain more. I would suggest if you want a better sounding Oboe maybe go after a Loree.

Making the hole in the b key smaller usually eliminates the hissing, without affecting anything else.
Pour in paraffin, molten stearin or something, then drill a hole through it, until you are satisfied with it.
Or have a professional do it.

my oboe does that too but its because the reed is pulled out a lot.
