i play with braces...both upper and lower teeth
try to avoid playing it after you got your braces tightened..for about 3 days..`coz it hurts
you can play it normally...juz that your tone colour might change from time to time becoz your mouth shape is changing
i once read a book that straight teeth is good of double reed players...haha

I used to play with braces....it chewed up my reeds at the beginning but I adapted to it and the problem was solved in a few weeks.

I don`t... but I think I`m gonna get them [eventually].
My friend last year had braces, and I don`t think it`s the braces, but she went through like a reed a week!
I last about a month or so... depending on how much I work into the reed.

i got a brace put on the top row of teeth a few weeks ago and its not really made any difference. im having the bottom row done in a couple of weeks so hopefully nothing shuold change there.
i think it depends how long you`ve been playing - if you`re an established oboist then it shouldn`t be too difficult cos you know what shape your mouth needs to be. if you`ve just started playing the oboe then i think it`d b more difficult as you havnt got used to the mouth shape yet. you should be fine though!

I play with braces and never player without them.
My oboe teacher says, when they come off I`ll just have more lip and control. Looking forward to them coming off.
don`t give up because of braces.
