I`m looking for an oboe teacher in Philadelphia, for my daughter, whohas played for a couple years and wants better instruction now. Any pointers?

You could call the office at the PYO (Philadelphia Youth Orchestra) and see if they have any tips on teachers. I don`t know if you could get any lessons with any of the Philly Orch. section Oboes. I think Richard Woodhams only teaches college. I would try that. I don`t live in Philadelphia though just have a few friends there.

now i`m not sure, but there is one person who may or may not help. Call Dr. Henry Grabb at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Some college instructors teach oboe to other people, but I will warn you, it will not be cheap. He may even be able to reccommend someone to you. Second both replies. The Youth Orchestra and Colleges are good sources of referral, and this applies to almost anywhere. Goes with Philly like steak & cheese. Good luck . Strat man Dwight
