I would say any piece by Antonio Pasculli, particularly "Le Api" (The Bee) is the most difficult. There are approx. 3, 045 notes in the piece, and the entire piece is composed of 32nd notes. The metronome marking is 126. It also requires the performer to circular breathe.

I wonder what you mean by hard? Technically? Well then most of the Romantic oboe repertoire; Pasculli, Laillet, Daelli, are tremndously difficult from a technical point. However they are not great pieces of music and to say they are would indicate a severe lack in musical judgement! If you want difficult look at the Schumann Three Romances, Bach g minor 1030b sonata, Dorati Duo Concertante. Pieces that are difficult are the ones that test both the musical and technical limitations of a performer.
