Hey,
I have been trying to find out some more groups that use oboe in pop and jazz music. I have compiled a substantial list and want to increase it. So if you know of any PLEASE post them here

There`s oboe in some Miles recordings, like Sketches of Spain. Most oboe jazz sounds bad because the musicians play sax more seriously, but it sounds really nice when they can play well. Oboe is used in some free improv stuff though, like Bario.

I just finished a CD entitled,"Pop Goes the Oboe", and have found this web site.

I play oboe and english horn, and the CD includes "Spain" by Chick Corea, "Chase the Clouds Away" by Chuck Mangione, as well as recent pop music by Evanescence, Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, and more.

If anyone would like more info, just email me at: 5pantely@msn.com

Thanks,
BP
