I`m an american i Love alex klein like many of you..i love listning to how his sound has changed over the last decades from a light and delacate sound to a creamy dark sound. Other oboist i love to listen to are Joseph Robinson(to bad he`s leaving the Ny philharmonic!)he`s from NC my home state. Other oboist I like are Elaine Douvas and Eugene Izotov of the MET and Richard Woodhams of the philadelphia orchestra. Lets see other ones i like would be Richard killmer from estman and Yale.
Also i like Katherine Needleman possible one of the greatest oboist of My generation. Some oboist i dont like as much is John Mack his sound is two thin for me but he`s a great teacher as you can see and here by his students.

For a beautiful baroque oboe sound (the period instrument, has only two keys) listen to Gonzalo Ruiz.
