Hey,
Exactly what information do you want? There are many answers but you have to have the questions first! I`m sure anyone could give you advice if you ask some questions!

Oboes sound cool but most music teachers say they are pretty tricky.

Yes oboe is one of the hardest wind instruments to learn because of the complexity of the reed and instrument setup. A hopeful oboist has to be willing to work, and take every piece of advice and apply it. Even though it may sound like a lot of hard work (which it is) it is ALSO one of the most rewarding things you could ever do. Oboe has the most beautiful sound ever (haha in my opinion ) and is sooo fun and beautiful to play. So if you are a hard worker, a good musician, and oh yeah a liiiiitle bit weird i`d say go for it buddy!

i've just switched from alto saxophone to oboe, and i'm finding it very difficult to play. i'm not really sure how to hold the redd in my mouth, and i think that is what is giving me a poor sound. well, actually it's not much of a sound...just lots and lots of air. so,if any body has any advice, PLEASE help, cause i have to learn how to play moderately well really soon!!

Your embouchre is completely different on oboe than saxophone. I just now started playing oboe and can play quite well. When you play the oboe, make sure that the reed is wet because you will sound better. When you hold the reed in your mouth, cover the top and bottom of your teeth with your lips because you will bite the reed if you don't and that is a very bad habit. Don't take in much of the reed and blow some air through the horn and that should be it.
