Hello,
I desperately want to learn to make my own reeds. I`m shopping around for supplies and have come across several types of reed knifes like double hollow ground (offered in soft, hard and medium) and beveled. I`m also confused about which brand to buy. Can someone give me an idea on what type to purchase and why? I`m not looking for something reliable not fancy. Thank-you

Ledwell are great!
From all modern knives they r the best,but...
If you can find some Bhosys knives
There is not so many left, but sometimes you can find them at ebay
Soli, very solid steel and very easy to sharpen, they last for very long time, they also have very solid handels.I have few for already ten years and use only them
Good luck

The RDG swiss model is really good, but its really expensive, so you probably don`t want that.
