Sometimes the notes will be ok but other times, for example, if I play a Bb it registers as a B or an A. Other notes do that too. I can adjust but it doesn`t do much. It simply registers the wrong note.

Wait, I`m confused. Your saying that when you play a B flat, it sounds like a B?

How many notes are like this? If all your notes are out of tune, its you, not the oboe. If you maybe have one or two notes that are seriously out of tune, but the rest are fine, I recommend taking it to a specialist to check it out.

It could be a lot of problems: I would take it to my teacher first and have him/her try it out. Than take it to a repairman and also check reeds too, etc.

my oboe is always out of tune except for 8 notes.... is that me sounding like road kill thats back from the dead or my oboe????

i think if a few a tones are out of tune this doesn`t really matter(if they are not extremly out of tune), because when you "understand" the music and hear the next tone in your mind before playing it, you can`t be wrong! but i know it`s hard to develop such good ears:-)

ps:my oboe is also out of tune at some tones, i wouldn`t say that i`m happy about it, but i think you can learn a lot with this problem!
