hi! i just got an old wood oboe. what kind of special care do i need to do? silk swabs? bore oil? any ideas?

What does sb stand for? strong bad? Anyway, I don`t have a wood oboe, but I`m pretty sure you are supposed to use regular cloth swabs for polishing, according to my used-to-be private lesson teacher, not those kind you get in cleaning kits. Also, regular cork grease should work, and you don`t use oil or anything for polishing.

strong bad? ha! He`s awesome. ya the reeds are expensive. I got an old oboe and am turning it into a lamp. I can play 3 notes on an oboe. Sax and clarinet are my field, but oboe is next on the list of instruments to learn!
