I am just starting to learn the bassoon and have searched the web for info. on method, theory etc. but can't seem to find much at all.
Most of the sites I see mentioned come up with ''not on this server'' etc.
I've played the french horn for about 50 years, tried the flute and oboe but think the bassoon would be easier on my aging chops- I'm 67.
Bassoon.org does not appear to have a forum.
And I have tried to get the article by Hanna "Tips for beginning bassoonists'' but continue to get ''not allowed'' or 'not on this server'.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks

You will perhaps get many more qualified people than me to suggest literature, but here are 3 helpful sites. I seem to find tons of information on the web, but maybe your server is more picky.
I'm not so sure about the bassoon and aging chops - I find the old horn is pretty hard on the chops - but by all means give it a go. Do you have an instrument already?
In my opinion one of the best books for individual study (or with lessons, either) is Julius Weissenborn Practical Method for the Bassoon. If you can get hold of this and keep to it you will be well prepared.
