I don't know HOW this happened, but my bocal is bent near the cork. It won't go directly into my mouth the way it's supposed to, and I have to return this bassoon TOMORROW! I could try to bend it back myself, but 1) I can't afford to break it! 2)It won't bend, for some reason. 3) I definitely CANNOT afford to break it.
I feel stupid right now, and I don't feel like being yelled at tomorrow. It's bad enough that this could be caused from neglegance on my part, but...I don't know what to do. Help, needed quickly. Thank you.

If they're not a bassoonist, I doubt they'll notice to be honest, unless it's a reeeeally bad bend. in that case, you're probably lucky it didn't snap! I wouldn't worry too much about it, you can adjust so that it does go directly into your mouth, or find someone who is comfortable with bending crooks. You'll be fine How did you bend it in the first place?

Honestly, I can say that I don't know. I had to stop playing for about 10 minutes to help my sister, and as soon as I returned, my bocal was like that. Now maybe it was my sister who bent it, but she claims she didn't go near it. But, don't worry. I've "fixed" it...I hope, cause I don't really feel like paying money to buy THEM a new bocal if I ruined it. But, they shouldn't notice now.

No you definitely don't want to buy them a new bocal, here they're about £300! extortion! But as long as there's now huge dents or anything you shouldn't need to anyway, even if it is a bit bent. Glad you 'fixed it though.
