I just wanted to see if anyone else here in the bassoon forum has ever played this piece. If so, I would like to know as to how you played it and, of course, if you like it.

Haven't played, but I love the piece. I was beginning to think I was the only one who knew Telemann created things other than his overture. Its a great piece. Telemann is the only composer I know who can make the recorder sound good-his recorder sonatas in fmajor and minor

Great piece.... I have it right now beacuse I am using it for all-state audition...It is a really good class A piece, but it needs a lot of musical additions but BEAutiful.

I played this piece many years ago for a recital. LOVE the piece for bassoon. I now make it a required piece for all my bassoon students to have in their rep. I think it is one of the elemental pieces for bassoon of the baroque era. I would highly recommend the edition by John W. Miller (principal bassoonist for Minnesota Orchestra) with realization by Raymond Leppard. Not sure where (or if) it can still be found.
