I recently read somewhere that the bridge in the song "Tears Of A Clown" by The Miracles was played on a bassoon. I listened to the song and knowing absolutely nothing about bassoons, I was wondering what sound the bassoon is responsible for; the low frequency one, the high frequency one, or did both come out of a bassoon?

So far nobody has been able to give me a proper answer and when I came across this forum I figured that if it was anywhere to be found, it should be here!

My bassoon teacher had that as his ringtone. I love it! You can hear it quietly in the background, just noodling, and it's just amusing.....
